Helping others

Recently I was offered to help add ideas to a programs outline about what spouses needed to know before and during, while their military loved one was coming into the Air Force.  I felt wanted and needed but still grateful for the opportunity to voice my opinion. So tomorrow I will be volunteering in the DC Kitchen helping to prepare meals for the people in need.  I have always wanted to help others not only with my medical skills but some where their life situations.  I wanted many years ago to build a HUD house, but never went through with it.  This is my time to share and give and to show my boys that helping other is very rewarding.  It builds something stronger inside of you and that sometimes gets rubbed off onto others.

I know that I'm Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist now, and I help people see whats wrong inside of them, but helping others in ANY kind of way is still so awesome.

What was the last thing great that you did for someone?  Or what would be something that you would really want to do for somebody?

Learning to Coupon

I did it again today.  I have a friend who was patient with me and started teaching me how to coupon. No, I'm not an extreme coupon lady yet. But today I was able to buy $56.01 worth of groceries and with coupons, I only paid $7.82 when it was all said and done.

First I started to get the Sunday paper inserts at the Dollar Tree around my neighborhood, I usually buy 4. Then I print from coupon.com, only the things that I want or need. We started at a store that will double all my coupons. The first time I saved money was on an order that was $114 and in the end I spent $5.31.

Put it to the side

This morning I was able to wake up next to my husband of 17 years and realized that he was not rushing off to work. He actually had the day off.  He works countless hours during the day and still works on his computer at home at night. So I said, "I have a plan, lets get some coffee, have breakfast out and hit a movie theater". He turned and smiled at me and I knew that it was going to be a great morning. At the time our bedroom was a mess, because we had been focused on the rest of the house. I told him to leave it, it will be here when we come back. Plus we can either cut the Pandora on and clean up stairs or watch one of our Netflix series and fold clothes together.  I try to find little ways to spend time together, especially when you don't get a lot of time.  Have you ever wondered about the small things you could do with a special person?  We lose that along the way in a relationship. From time to time I think back what if I was younger, what would I do with this person in my life that will draw them closer to me, that may even put a smile on their face?

Starting and Sharing Fresh

I believe that my life is interesting. So I'm going to try something new.  I going to start a blog about me and my family. Just the basic like throwing in short stories about my family.  When I look back and tell family and friends about situations that has happened in my life most of them laugh or say what in the world.  I seems to give out great tips that deal with family, school, friends, organization and just life in general. First tell me what you think, if you are visiting my site. Ask any question that you want and I will answer or try to find the answer for you.
